Monday again! Can you believe the first full month of 2018 is nearly come & gone? Gosh, the days and months and years just seem to fly by the older you get. Or is that just me? I look back on places I’ve been or things I’ve done, and they feel just like yesterday. When in fact, they were many moons ago. I guess that is the funny thing about time, it just slips way. Which is why I think it is so important to fill our days with things we love! For me that is largely based around family & travel. Without those two things, I wouldn’t be fulfilled or using my gifts from God with purpose. Speaking of which, I’m excited about today’s post. I’m sharing my quick visit to Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
Though I am in no way associated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can appreciate stunning church architecture when I see it. The Salt Lake Temple was no exception! During a trip to Salt Lake City for a conference, I enjoyed a walk around Temple Square admiring this incredible temple and grounds. Everywhere I go, churches always seem to catch my eye, and this one was a stunner! The square was just about the only place I was able to visit while in this city, and it did not disappoint! The grounds took up an entire city block, and the temple shown bright from the middle.
The grounds span over 10 acres, and are full of beautiful landscaping and multiple buildings, including visitor’s centers. Those from all denominations and walks of life are encouraged to visit. It is a beautiful, serene place to walk, admire, and worship. Though the beliefs of this church are not my own, I felt an immense peace walking around the square. The architectural beauty alone is enough to captivate anyone!
If you’re planning a visit to Salt Lake City, I encourage you to stop by Temple Square to view the beauty yourself! Hope you have a great week!
